Mentoring is most often defined as a professional relationship in which an experienced person
(The mentor) assists another (the mentee) in developing specific skills and knowledge that will enhance the less-experienced person’s professional and personal growth.

A Formal Mentoring arrangement will define the methods of communication, the frequency, and their intensity, and will include a definable objective, and normally a target date for completion.
A mentoring arrangement is typically between two people

Mentorship is a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. The mentor may be older or younger than the person being mentored, but he or she must have a certain area of expertise. There is a paradigm shift taking place with mentoring.
Effective or modern mentoring is becoming the norm and the traditional style of mentoring while still be used is becoming a lot less popular.
The relationship is typically two way, trusted, both mentor and mentee learn and grow on a personal and professional basis.
